Candida diet, according to medical practitioners, is said to have medical benefits for Candida patients. Overgrowth of Candida albicans can lead to serious infections on areas such as on the stomach, mouth, vagina, and other areas on the body in which this yeast-like fungus can be normally found. A person with weak immune systems is more likely to suffer this condition all over the body. One of the effective ways to combat symptoms of Candida infections, especially on the intestinal tract, is to follow a strict Candida diet.
Despite of the helpful benefits of the Candida diet, health practitioners say that this could mean eliminating a number of nutritious foods on the diet. This, in return, could lead to several symptoms, like fatigue, headache, lethargy, poor concentration, and mood swings.
In the present, there are no specific requirements as to what a Candida diet should consist. However, we have listed the following foods which should be avoided completely to help eliminate those nasty symptoms:
Vinegar
This include red wine vinegar, rice vinegar, white vinegar, apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar, and all other kinds of vinegar. Foods which are made from vinegar are also not allowed in a Candida diet.
Yeast
Any foods made up or baked with yeast are not permitted, such as roll, crackers, breads, pasta, muffins, Baker’s yeast, Torula, Brewer’s yeast, and many others.
Sugar
It is said that sugar enhances the growth of Candida fungus. Watch out for foods containing turbinado, white sugar, honey, brown sugar, corn syrup, maple sugar, date sugar, raw sugar, maple syrup, demerrara, amasake, rice syrup, molasses, sorghum, as well as processed foods with labels like sucrose, maltose, glycogen, lactose, glucose, sorbitol, galactose, fructose, mannitol, monosaccharides, and polysaccharides.
Fruits
Fruits naturally have sugar content, and so these should be avoided as well.
Gluten
Foods with gluten should be eliminated, like breads, pasta, wheat, rye, and barley.
Peanuts and Pistachios
Peanuts as well as pistachios are naturally mold contaminated which is the reason why these foods should not be included in the diet.
Processed and Refined Goods
These include cheese and packaged foods which contain refined sugar, preservatives, food coloring, and some added chemicals.
Coffee, Root beer and Fermented Beverages
All types of coffee, as well as teas, root beer, and ciders should be avoided.
Pickled, Smoked, and Processed Meats
Although they are good sources of protein, meats like sausages, smoked salmon, corned beef, bologna, and other types of processed meats should not be included in a regular meal when following a strict Candida diet.
